Tequila & strawberry jello! 🍓
Margaritas are great, jello is fantastic. Let’s combine them and put a new twist on a popular fruity drink.
The Strawberry Margarita Jello Shot recipe is created using the basic concept of how I make all my jello shots – replacing the cold water called for in the instructions on the jello box with alcohol and/or other liquid.
WHAT YOU NEED
• 2 1/4 cups Water
• 1 big box Strawberry Jello
• 1/3 cup Strawberry Syrup
• 1 cup Silver Tequila
• 1/8 cup Cointreau (could also use triple sec)
• 10 4oz cups
• optional: salt & lime for garnish
WHAT TO DO
[1] boil WATER
Pour water into saucepan. Place on stove over high heat. Bring to boil.
[2] add JELLO
Once the water is boiling, turn off the heat and pour in contents from the jello packet.
[3] STIR until dissolved
Using a fork or whisk, stir jello until it is dissolved – usually about a minute.
[4] add STRAWBERRY SYRUP
Let cool just slightly, then pour syrup into jello mixture.
[5] add TEQUILA
Next, add silver Tequila to jello.
[6] add COINTREAU
Add orange liqueur to jello mix. Stir.
[7] POUR into cups
Pour mixture into cups. I used 10 4oz cups.
[8] REFRIGERATE until firm and ready to serve
Place jello shots in the fridge until they are firm and you are ready to serve.
[9] add GARNISH
If you really want to go for the margarita feel, salt the rim of the cup and slide on a lime wedge.
[ENJOY!]
You can purchase the cups I most often use from Amazon. They come in a huge pack – but, I don’t mind. It means I have enough to make lots and lots of jello shots.
Please enjoy the Strawberry Margarita Jello Shot responsibly
